ADVERTISING POLICY

The Ransom Notes advertising policy is as follows:

ALL POINTS BULLETINS

This covers classes offered, notices of book publication, etc. Author Members receive up to 150 words at no charge; photo or graphic image is $5.00. Deadline: remains the same, 10th of the month for the upcoming issue. Non Members can place up to 25 words for $5.00. For Everybody: The blurb needs to have: the name of the event, date, location, contact/website in no more than 25 words. An additional 125 words can be purchased for an additional $5.00. Pictures or graphics are an additional $5.00 each. The printed size of the graphics/ pictures is at the sole discretion of Ransom Notes.

AUTHOR! AUTHOR! and SIGNINGS OF THE TIMES

No change. For author members only. No advertising will be accepted from non-members.

CALLS FOR SUBMISSIONS

Usually run in APBs. Free, but the 150 word count applies, and the advertiser must edit the info, we no longer will. It will not run if over the word count. If the ad is for a contest requiring a fee, or if it’s for a for-profit or marketing organization, it will cost $5.00 for members and $10.00 for non-members. We need at least one calendar month lead time (e.g. 10th of June notification and payment for August publication).

CONFERENCES

Information on upcoming writing conferences is included on our “Criminal Pursuits” page, and will include: name, dates, location and contact. Any conference that wishes to list added info will be subject to the non-member fees listed in APBs.

ADVERTORIALS

This is for non-members only. We will accept one full page article per issue at a cost of $25.00 per article. One person or group can submit one article no more frequently than once quarterly, with the date(s) agreed upon with the Editor in advance. Word count is limited to 750, without graphics or pictures. Graphics will cut down on the word count. The word "Advertorial" will appear across the bottomo of the page. Contact the Editor at: ransomnotes1@earthlink.net.

ARTICLES

This is for members only. SinC/LA will accept articles from its membership, which will be reviewed by the Editor as relevant to our membership. Inclusion in Ransom Notes is based upon word count, relevance, and available space. Articles should cover only writing-related news and must be written by a SinC member. This, too, will be decided by the Editor. We may consider running articles from other SinC chapter members.

BOOKSTORES

Announcements must come directly from the bookstore. We will not be charging bookstores, and there will be no separate departments devoted to them at this time. Any signing info they send should apply only to SinC authors.

GENERAL: Submitters are responsible for all text, graphics, and pictures. Submitters are also responsible for accuracy of information, as Ransom Notes doesn’t have fact-checkers. Any item exceeding the appropriate word count will not run.

All questions and clarifications should be addressed to: ransomnotes1@earthlink.net.
