The Upstate, SC Chapter of Sisters in Crime hopes you can join them on June 2nd at 3:30 PST (6:30 pm EST) to hear Richard (Rick) Helms, Forensic Psychologist and award-winning Author.
Rick’s talk examines not only the biological foundations of psychopathy, but also how experience and social standing shapes criminal behaviors beginning in late childhood and adolescence. Rick’s career as a forensic psychologist spanned more than two deceased. At one time, he was the only court psychologist covering four counties in NC. He is a court-recognized expert in sex crimes and the psychology of sex offenders.
Rick is also a prolific writer, and collects awards like some people collect comic books. He has won the SMFS Derringer Award twice, the Private Eye Writers of America Shamus Award, the ITW Thriller Award, and the Killer Nashville Silver Falchion Award.
