Some members from our chapter will be part of the annual LADIES OF INTRIGUE hosted by Orange County Sisters in Crime on November 10, 2019, in Costa Mesa. Anne Louise Bannon will be talking about how to write a novel at the Pasadena Central Library (285 E. Walnut St., Pasadena) on October 3 at 7 p.m.


Members Ellen Byron and Mary Marks will both participate in the Kensington Cozy Club Convention: Western USA Region – Day 1, with Day 2 happening in San Diego. Here’s the full details on the local Saturday portion taking place in Redondo Beach,

Join Autumn Doerr on Saturday October 26th at 6p.m. for a reading and book signing at Tea-Tasting, 40 Downtown Mall, Lodi 95240. Autumn will read from her new release, FREE FOR ALL, book two of the Lexi Fagan Mystery Series, as well as from BAKER’S DOZEN (book one).


Mister in Crime August Norman, and his debut thriller, COME AND GET ME: A Caitlin Bergman Novel, will be at Magna Cum Murder in Indianapolis, October 25-27, and Bouchercon in Dallas, October 31-November 3, including the Sisters in Crime breakfast on Friday, November 1st.


SinC/LA members Laurie Stevens and Laura Brennan will be on a different kind of panel on Saturday, October 19, 3:15-4:15 pm at Canoga Park Library, 20939 Sherman Way Canoga Park 91303. Billed as A Halloween Escape Room and Spooky Tales, the event will focus on mysterious local happenings, incorporating true and spooky tales into an escape room game designed by Laura Brennan.

For ages 12 and over. You won’t be locked in, but you’ll have fun solving a mystery! Mark your calendar for this debut interactive event.

On November 14th, The Partnership Scholars Program is hosting a literary event for teens featuring Pamela Samuels Young and her young adult mysteries about child sex trafficking (#Anybody’s Daughter) and teen sexting (#Abuse of Discretion).

Tori Eldridge, debut author of THE NINJA DAUGHTER, combines her writing and acting experience to teach Dynamic Readings and Believable Dialogue: An Actor’s Approach to Embodying Characters at the Central Coast Writers Conference in San Luis Obispo, Sept. 26-28.


Sheila Lowe will be the featured speaker at the SinC/LA Sept 8th meeting. On the 14th, she’ll be addressing a Camarillo writers group on writing a series, and on the 21st, she will speak at the SinC chapter in Nipomo about her new Beyond the Veil series, as well as showing the handwritings of the presidential hopefuls.


Janet Elizabeth Lynn and Will Zeilinger will be reading/presenting from their latest novel GAME TOWN at Lit Up Orange County on Tuesday, September 24 from 7:00 to 9:00 at the Bardot Bars and Coffee in Tustin.

Joan Renner is teaching THE DARK HISTORY OF LOS ANGELES for Urban Elective. The class examines murder and mayhem in the city from 1850 to the present day. The six-week course is for adults 21-years and older and begins Monday, September 9, 2019. Enrollment details are available at:
