Festival of Books Signing Booth Sign Ups for 2020

Greetings, everyone.

Here is the form to sign up for your opportunity to sign your titles at the upcoming Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, Saturday and Sunday, April 18 and 19.  Slots will be assigned on a first come, first served basis, and we will probably have a waiting list – but don’t despair. We often get cancellations.

You may already have heard this news. Many large events are being cancelled because of concern for the spread of the Coronavirus.

The Festival has been rescheduled for the weekend of October 3rd and 4th.
Sisters in Crime LA will be  keeping its booth and will plan to participate in October.
Those of you who already requested a signing time will be able to use the same day and time in October or will get first choice for any other time that has not been filled.

Do You NaNo?

NaNoWriMo — National Novel Writing Month — happens every November. In a flurry of writing, thousands of authors attempt to turn out hundreds of thousands of words to each finish a novel in a month.

How do they do it? One of the ways is through write-ins.

A write-in is simply a group of writers coming together — ideally where there is food and coffee! — to write together for a couple of hours. Sisters in Crime/LA will support our writing community this year with several write-ins across Los Angeles in November. Whether or not you’re officially doing NaNo, you are welcome to join fellow Sisters and Misters for a couple of ours of writing throughout the month. No pressure, just dedicated time to get words on a page.

Want more information? Email Laura Brennan at [email protected], and keep an eye on the website. Dates and places will be posted as we get closer to November 1st.

Happy writing!

Thanks to All Who Were a Part of LA TIMES FESTIVAL OF BOOKS!

Sisters in Crime/LA sends appreciation to all Sisters and Misters who were a part of the LA Times Festival of Books event.

This year proved specifically exciting as we offered the chapter’s new anthology, FATALLY HAUNTEDfor sale on pre-release before its wide availability on April 29th of this month. Several anthology authors, including A.P. Jamison and Tony Chiarchiaro pictured below (right side of each photo), were on hand to actually sign the anthology and make the experience even more special for purchasers.

Whether you took advantage of a signing appearance, volunteered at the booth, or just came by to support, we thank you.
